Healed through prayer: After several decades of back problems, Kari experienced an immediate healing during intercessory prayer. "The pain disappeared instantly, and I could move freely again!"
First, we will introduce who Kari is.
She tells that she had the faith of a child since she was little, but then she met Jesus while taking an agronomy education at Tomb Agricultural School. She had intended to move on to NMBU (Norwegian University of Life Sciences), but Jesus wanted it differently.
The Ås Respite Home Project
– When I became a Christian at the age of 22, I received the calling to become a nurse. It was the last thing I could imagine becoming, says the 68-year-old.
She followed the calling to help the sick and those who are in pain. She graduated as a nurse in 1982 and gained a position in the public sector where she worked for several years.
– Already in my first practice, I was thrown into encounters with the dying. It was then that the call from God was released, she told the time I, as a journalist for the newspaper Norway TODAY, interviewed her about her life's work at Ås Respite Home.
Many were saved
She took over there in 1984, and bought the place in 1994. She worked with people struggling with substance abuse and mental illnesses. Above a doorway there, it stated in large letters "Jesus is Lord". She was the owner and ran the respite home until the summer of 2023. The place became a proclamation of exactly that – "Jesus is Lord" – because many residents had powerful encounters with Jesus and were saved. She says she stopped because she was a pensioner and wanted to focus on the next life project.

Solheimen Conference Hotel
– Now I run the Solheimen Conference Hotel, which is located in the beautiful village of Hedalen south in Valdres, right next to Hedalen Stave Church. For 40 years, the hotel has been a place of rest, recreation, and new inspiration for many people. The vision for our business is still to be an oasis, available for people who wish to come together for fellowship with an emphasis on spiritual values, but also for groups who wish to celebrate anniversaries, memorial services, and use our conference facilities for courses and meetings, she informs. Prayer and healing are the focus. On March 21-23, Dennis Greenidge, evangelist and senior pastor at World Wide Mission Fellowship London, is coming. He was declared dead a few years ago, but then God intervened and raised him up.
– We must place greater focus in our preaching on prayer and healing. It is easily neglected and challenging in our secular age, says Kari, reminding that a large part of Jesus' ministry was healing.
– I was instantly pain-free
She therefore wants to testify about the time she experienced the power of Jesus and was instantly and immediately healed and freed from the pains that had severely limited her in her occupation as a nurse. She says that the issues with her back started long before she began working in the Health Services.
– Even though we were taught to lift correctly, it is easy to do it wrong. It is a profession where one is highly exposed to wear and tear injuries. I very often had back pain. It hindered me a lot in my job as a nurse.

Married Couple: Kari Skoklefald and her husband Lars Samuelsen.
On Saturday, March 29 at 5 PM, he will speak there. This is the congregation of Kari Skoklefald and her husband Lars Samuelsen (former lecturer in mathematics and physics at the University of Ås and at Ås Upper Secondary School). She says it marks 20 years of being healthy and that "now the circle is complete."
– Back then, I was so ill that I could barely get out of bed. There were points in the back where the pain stabbed like knives.
– Did you have an X-ray of your back? What did your doctor say about your back problems?
– No, I did not have an X-ray and I do not go to the doctor much. I thought it was ordinary wear and tear and that it might heal by itself, she answers.
Could Skate Again
But it didn't happen. Kari was really in bad shape when 20 years ago she 'just wanted to drop by the meeting.' There she was prayed for by Svein-Magne Pedersen.
– As he laid his hand on my back, I felt warmth spreading. I was instantly and immediately healed. I have never experienced anything so powerful. I could bend over and place both palms on the floor. And I could skate again. I hadn't been able to do that for many years.
She says that many in her circle of friends noticed and commented that she was free from back pain.
– Since then I have been completely free from back pain and never had any pain again, says Kari.
50 Warts Disappeared Overnight
Then there was yet another miracle she has experienced in her life. It happened when her daughter, Henriette Bochmann Selasky, was 13 years old. She had over 50 warts on her hands. She tried to keep it hidden to avoid being bullied.
– She played the piano and it bothered her a lot. She was embarrassed about how her hands looked.
The girl's grandmother, Bjørg Skoklefald, had often had contact with Svein-Magne Pedersen over the phone, and she asked for prayer for her granddaughter. Pedersen sent her an anointing cloth. The grandmother stroked the cloth over the granddaughter's hands.
– The next morning all 50 warts were gone! There was no sign that she had ever had warts on her hands! Says Kari Skoklefald. Both she and her daughter testify about the miracles they have experienced and would gladly proclaim healing through prayer.
