↑ Healed through prayer: After several decades of back problems, Kari experienced an immediate healing during intercession. “The pain disappeared instantly, and I could move freely again!”
First, we will present who Kari is.
She shares that she had childlike faith from a young age, but she encountered Jesus while she was studying for her agronomy degree at Tomb Agricultural School. She had intended to continue at NMBU (Norwegian University of Life Sciences), but Jesus had other plans.
The Work of a Lifetime Ås Relief Home
“When I became a Christian at the age of 22, I felt the call to become a nurse. It was the last thing I could imagine becoming,” says the 68-year-old.
She followed the call, to help the sick and those who are suffering. She graduated as a nurse in 1982 and got a position in the public sector where she worked for several years.
“Already in my first practice, I was thrown into encounters with the dying. It was then that the call from God was released,” she said back when I, as a journalist for the newspaper Norge IDAG, interviewed her about her life's work at Ås Relief Home.
Many Were Saved
She took over there in 1984 and bought the place in 1994. She worked with people struggling with addiction and mental health issues. Above a doorway, it was written in large letters “Jesus is Lord”. She was the owner and ran the relief home until the summer of 2023. The place was a proclamation of just that – “Jesus is Lord” – because many residents had powerful encounters with Jesus and were saved. She says she stopped because she was retired and wanted to focus on the next life’s work.

Solheimen Conference Hotel
– Now I run Solheimen Conference Hotel, located in the beautiful village of Hedalen, south of Valdres, near Hedalen Stave Church. For 40 years, the hotel has been a place for rest, recreation, and new inspiration for many people. The vision for our business is still to be an oasis, accessible for people who wish to come together in fellowship with a focus on spiritual values, but also for groups who want to mark anniversaries, memorial gatherings, and use our conference facilities for courses and meetings, she explains. There, prayer and healing are in focus. On March 21–23, Dennis Greenidge, evangelist and senior pastor at World Wide Mission Fellowship London, will be coming. He was declared dead some years ago, but then God intervened and raised him up.
– We must place greater focus in our preaching on prayer and healing. It is easily neglected and is challenging in our secularized age, says Kari, reminding us that a large part of Jesus' ministry was healing.
– I Was Instantly Pain-Free
She therefore wants to testify about the time she experienced the power of Jesus and became instantly and immediately healed and free from the pain that had severely limited her in her nursing career. She says that the back problems started long before she began working in the healthcare sector.
– Even though we learned to lift correctly, it is easy to do it wrong. It is a profession where one is strongly exposed to wear and tear injuries. I often had a lot of back pain. It restricted me greatly in my job as a nurse.

On Saturday, March 29 at 5 PM, he will speak there. This is the congregation of Kari Skoklefald and her husband Lars Samuelsen (former lecturer in mathematics and physics at the University of Ås and Ås High School). She says it marks 20 years of being healthy and that "now the circle is complete.”
– I was back then so unwell that I almost couldn’t get out of bed. There were points in the back where the pain stabbed like knives.
– Did you take an X-ray of your back? What did your doctor say about the back problems?
– No, I didn’t take X-rays and don’t go to the doctor much. I thought it was normal wear and tear injuries and that it might heal on its own, she replies.
Could Skate Again
But it did not happen. Kari was really sick when 20 years ago she 'just wanted to drop by the meeting for a while.' There, Svein-Magne Pedersen prayed for her.
– As he placed his hand on my back, I felt a warmth spreading. I was instantly and immediately healed. I've never experienced anything so strong. I could bend over and place both palms on the floor. And I could skate on figure skates again. I hadn't been able to do that for many years.
She says that many in her social circle noticed and commented that she was free from her back problems.
– Since then I have been completely healthy in my back and never had pain there again, says Kari.
50 Warts Disappeared Overnight
Then there was another miracle she has experienced in her life. It happened when her daughter, Henriette Bochmann Selasky, was 13 years old. She had over 50 warts on her hands. She tried to keep it hidden to avoid being bullied.
– She played the piano, and it bothered her a lot. She was embarrassed about how her hands looked.
The girl's grandmother, Bjørg Skoklefald, has often had contact with Svein-Magne Pedersen over the phone, and she asked for prayers for her granddaughter. Pedersen sent her an anointing cloth. The grandmother stroked it over her granddaughter's hands.
– The next morning all 50 warts had disappeared! There was no sign that she had ever had warts on her hands! Tells Kari Skoklefald. Both she and her daughter testify to the miracles they have experienced and are eager to proclaim healing through prayer.
