Jesus Heals Ministries’ largest mission work in India is on track. A course in evangelism and church planting was completed on June 3rd and 4th this year. Here, 76 new evangelists had their graduation.
Jesus Heals Ministries has a successful mission work ongoing in India. We probably have India's largest Bible school with 2000 students spread over 76 locations. We also have a 12-month school for illiterates spread over 50 locations, with 1600 students. The plan is to increase to 4500 students! There are 278 million illiterates in India, so the challenges are significant. The students learn to write, read, and do arithmetic. In addition, they receive education in Christianity. About half of the non-Christian students are saved during the course.
Course with Clear Objectives
In the 15-month evangelism course in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, there have been 76 students distributed over two locations. Theory and practice have gone hand in hand. During the course, students have led 612 to salvation and gained many hundreds of new contacts. They have also started 96 new churches. The course consisted of five modules with a few days of teaching in connection with each module, followed by three months of practice:
The Bible’s teaching on evangelism.
How to make people disciples.
What it means to be a member of a church.
How disciples can become leaders.
Multiplication – how leaders can train new leaders, pass it on, start new churches, etc.
Principal Dibya has been the leader of the course. He himself was involved in setting up the course. Several other teachers have been part of the teaching. On June 3rd and 4th, 76 students experienced a well-organized graduation with the awarding of diplomas to the students. See the pictures.
Moving Forward
Soon a new evangelism course will be launched. The plan is to increase the offer from 76 evangelists to at least 400, distributed over 40 locations! We need a lot of prayer for the projects in India! The vision is to reach unreached people groups with the gospel.
Principal Dibya has a great team of many leaders with various responsibilities. His foundation is responsible for this large and well-organized work – in cooperation with our newly established foundation, PATH Institute, approved by the Indian state. Internationally, all work there is under Jesus Heals Ministries’ mission umbrella for India. Dibya and all leaders in India greatly appreciate this.
