Jesus' resurrection is the greatest miracle in history. Paul wanted more of "the power of his resurrection!" In other words: More power!
Christianity is built on miracles. Jesus' miraculous resurrection is the proof that He was the Son of God: He was "declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead" (Rom 1:4, NKJV). The resurrection is the "proof" of the cross's truth.
If Jesus had not died for ALL people's sins and ALL people's diseases, God would not have raised Him from the dead. Without Jesus' resurrection, our faith is "worthless" (1 Cor 15:14, NKJV). The resurrection is also proof that God desires to heal the WHOLE body, first by healing our weak bodies here in time, then by a total "healing" – the resurrection from the dead and a renewed, heavenly body (1 Cor 15:4; Phil 3:21, NKJV). The resurrection is God's declaration of a FULL GOSPEL. Jesus' death and resurrection are a demonstration by God that Jesus has become "Lord of both the dead and the living" (Rom 14:9, NKJV).
Christianity is a "power religion," but it has been poorly fostered by the historical churches (Rom 15:18–19; 1 Cor 1:18; 2:3–5; 4:20; 1 Thess 1:5, NKJV). In many of these churches, there is more death than life, more rituals and dogmatic formulations than practicing the message of power to a sick world. God desires to "confirm the word through the accompanying signs" (Mark 16:20, NKJV). He is eager to affirm the historical TRUTH and POWER of the resurrection among us.
For many, Jesus' resurrection has only become a historical dogma, a historical period – without nurturing the power that the gospel of the resurrection should bring forth. Healing preachers, therefore, often encounter closed church doors. Sometimes, it is easier to deliver political messages from the pulpit and messages from representatives of other religions – and opposite dogmas!
The Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead (Rom 8:11, NKJV) – and it is this power we need to see more of around us. God wants to "pour out" more of His Holy Spirit's power on "all flesh" (Acts 2:17, NKJV). More, more, more! This was Paul's earnest desire:
"That I may KNOW Him and the power of His RESURRECTION."
Phil 3:10, NKJV
"KNOW" – not just know about!
The resurrection is God's "receipt" that Jesus' "It is finished" on the cross applies to both salvation and healing. THANK YOU FOR THE RESURRECTION!
