In the town of Gonepudi in the state of Andhra Pradesh, there are nearly 3000 people living. They have never had their own well but have been drinking water from a polluted river just outside the town.
The water contributes to weakening the health of the people in the town. The residents there asked our evangelist Timothi (the man in the middle of the picture) if the Jesus Heals Ministries Society could build them a well. Rumors are circulating in their district that we are engaged in well-building.
Yes to the well!
We answered yes, that we would build a well right outside a church there. Today (September 2, 2024), the well was inaugurated by our evangelist Timothi, to the great joy of many attendees. The well drillers had to drill 210 meters to find water. And we had to pay a little extra for it. But the result - water for countless years for India's low caste people.
In Gonepudi, 70 percent are farmers. The rest are regular workers in various occupations. 60 percent are Hindus. The rest are Muslims and Christians. The church beside which the well is built is called Calvary Meditation Centre.
Physical and spiritual water
Now both Timothi and the congregation's pastor, Samuel, can evangelize right outside the church door when the women come to fetch water. Here, for many years to come, they will be able to come to receive physical water for the body and spiritual water for the soul. Thanks to all the support partners of MJL for the gifts you have sent!
