↑ SVEIN-MAGNE: All prayers and proclamations in the Bible regarding prayer for the sick were short.
The Effect of Short Prayers
We tend to believe that short prayers have little or no effect. But the Bible says something entirely different.
Moses prayed for his sister Miriam who was leprous. He prayed:
“O, God, heal her!”
Numbers 12:13
Soon after, she was healed of this deadly disease.
The truth is: All prayers and proclamations in the Bible related to prayer for the sick were short. Peter says that it was “faith in Jesus’ name, has given this NAME strength to this man” (Acts 3:16). A proclamation of faith “in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth” was enough to heal the lame man at the temple gate!
I have had several teachers in the subject of healing. Two of them were the well-known healing evangelists Charles and Frances Hunter from the USA. They used to say: “Remember, healing is simple, because it is God who does it.”
Jesus once healed a man who was lame. He forgave him first and said: “Son, your sins are forgiven you!” Then He said: “Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins” – He said to the paralytic, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” And he arose, immediately took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this.” (Mark 2:5, 10-12)
If God is almighty and loves people so much that He paid for both sin and disease on the cross – why complicate it? Healing is part of the inheritance that is for us – available at any time. It is deposited in our “spiritual bank account.” Be bold, withdraw it in faith, prayer, and confession, declare your healing in Jesus’ name and blood. For we are “bought at a price” (1 Corinthians 6:20). Confess this truth until it manifests in the visible. The Lord bless you all today. I feel the love for all of you burning in my heart. I now pray for all my Facebook friends – for health and a good, long life!
