How many times should one seek intercessory prayer for healing? Is three to four prayer requests enough? If you ask a woman from Sørlandet, she will say: Do not put a limit on prayers!
In 2008, her son-in-law got cancer in his testicles. This dangerous form of cancer quickly spread to large parts of the body, including the vertebrae. The man received three chemotherapy treatments. They took such a toll that he had bleeding in his stomach. The cancer would not relent.
His mother-in-law felt the call to champion her son-in-law. From 2010, she began calling Svein-Magne to receive intercessory prayer:
"My son-in-law was very ill because of the cancer. Medication and treatments did not help. On the contrary, he just got worse and worse. The medicines gave him bleeding stomach ulcers. No one believed he would survive. He had undergone three courses of chemotherapy and was soon supposed to take the fourth and last one.
During this time, I came up with the idea to call Svein-Magne. Over a few months, I called 20–30 times. Sometimes I called several times a week. Svein-Magne prayed many prayers for my sick son-in-law. Something inside me said he was going to get well.
Then we heard that the Radium Hospital in Oslo had acquired a PET scanner. It could take sharp images of the whole body. The doctors wanted my son-in-law to be thoroughly examined and sent him there. The surprise was great when they discovered that the cancer all over his body had completely disappeared! He no longer needed more chemotherapy courses! The joy was immense!
My son is a believer. He believes that God healed him of all cancer after many prayers in 2010. Since then, he has been cancer-free."
