Do not let fear bind you. God has given us the gift of faith and promises associated with it. You can break free from all types of fear!
Fear binds us and keeps us within a limited comfort zone. Here, many are tied up and cannot move forward into what God wants to use them for. What do we do then?
We go to the Word to find out what the spiritual realities are. Here is the foundation for your faith: Paul says: "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Rom 8:31) Have you considered who is by your side 24/7? Unfortunately, many forget to arm themselves with this eternal truth. That’s why they feel so alone. The Bible says that "we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Cor 5:7). The visible should not determine our faith and the spiritual realities we build our lives upon.
If there is disorder in your spiritual "toolbox," confusing thought structures must be cleaned up. Uncertainty breeds more uncertainty. Here is another "faith tool":
"The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
Psalm 27:1
If you dare to believe these words, plant them in your heart and confess them aloud, you can overcome fear and the spirit of fear. The devil uses a natural fear that is common to all humans, invades it so that the fear gets worse. This is a spiritual reality that the Bible calls the "spirit of fear" (2 Tim 1:7). It must be driven out by God's Word and Spirit.
The basis for our faith is God's promises. Jesus said:
"Have faith in God."
Mark 11:22
Do not give up hope of reaching the goal God has placed in your heart. Continue to believe in the promises until God gives you full victory. No one can stop God from answering your prayers when they are based on God's promises. Only you can – if you stop believing.
So far you might have persevered in your own strength, stop that and rely only on God's promises and the plan God has for you. If you go outside His plans, you end up in the ditch of discouragement. There are no promises of victory here. Now it’s time to ask God: "What do you want me to do for You?" Follow the vision God has for you. Every time fear and doubt come, you can choose to believe the promises. Then you walk in faith every hour of the day. God's word stands firm in heaven and cannot be shaken.
"If God is for us, who can be against us?"
Who can? No one!
