↑ GRADUALLY HEALED: Ove Kolås surely called Svein-Magne Pedersen over a hundred times for prayer. And the gradual healing began.
Ove Kolås lives in his hometown in Lindås, fifty kilometers north of Bergen, where he was born and raised. He turned 69 in January this year, is healthy and active, and tells that he has ten grandchildren with whom he enjoys spending time, picking them up from school and spending time together.
Former policeman and farmer
Ove has had a long career as a policeman.
“In the 70s–80s, I worked at the Oslo Police Department. It was an exciting job. I took a leave of absence from the position in 1981, went home to Lindås, built a house, worked shifts, coached football, and was very stressed,” he explains.
Ove also had plans to work for a time at an oil refinery, but it was soon abruptly halted.
“While I was wallpapering the bedroom, I suddenly had a massive dizziness attack. I collapsed on the floor and became very ill. I went to the doctor, but he couldn't figure out what it was. I kept getting worse. I had no strength for anything. I had severe dizziness attacks all the time.
Bedridden and in need of care
He realized this meant the end of his career as a policeman.
“In 1986–87, I was so ill that I was bedridden. Used a wheelchair both outside and inside. I couldn't keep my head up. Had visual disturbances and gradually lost the ability to converse with others. I used hearing protection and earplugs to muffle sounds that could trigger even more dizziness attacks.
Incurable and fatal
In 1984, spinal tests were conducted at Haukeland Hospital.
“A professor of neurology said I had the worst form of the disease. The prospects were poor. He told me I was going to die of MS in an institution.”
Ove responded to the professor: “Jesus is going to heal me!”

↑ DOWN AND OUT: Ove Kolås was so ill and down that he wrote farewell letters to children and family.
God said he would be healed
At that time, he was the father of two small children. It was a very tough message to receive.
“I was then so ill and down that I wrote farewell letters to children and family.
But God wanted it differently.”
Ove says that he has grown up in a Christian home and has been a Christian all his life.
– I therefore chose to put all my trust in God, even though I thought I was going to die.
It was through Svein-Magne Pedersen's magazine Brevet that he learned about his healing ministry. He then called Pedersen and requested prayer.
– Then I received an answer from God: “You are going to be completely healthy.”
God confirmed His promise
Ove often listened to a Christian local radio at the time. He prayed that if it was true that he would be healed, he needed to receive confirmation from God.
– On the radio, they had a competition. The prize was a pizza. I told God that I would believe in healing if my name was announced that evening. And it happened. They said “Ove Kolås.” I later thought that it must have just been luck.
Two Sundays later, there was a new competition. This time with questions and answers in the Bible. I prayed for God to show me the scriptures and answers. Ove was sitting right then with the Bible open on the pages about Jesus and the Samaritan woman. It turned out this was exactly the theme for the competition.
– Afterwards, I cried for hours, because then I understood that God wanted to heal me.
A miracle of dimensions
Ove Kolås called Svein-Magne Pedersen probably over a hundred times and received prayer. And the gradual healing began. Slowly but surely, he got better and better. He describes that it progressed at a turtle's pace. One by one, the symptoms disappeared and the disease left the body.
– It was a healing of dimensions. Some months later, I could go to the neurologist at Haukeland. New MRI images showed that all MS was gone. It was impossible for something like this to happen. MS is incurable, he says.
Faith-Strengthening
Ove says that he has never doubted God. Experiencing such a great miracle has certainly been faith-strengthening.
– When I was at my worst, I placed all my trust in the Lord. I put up scripture verses on healing on the walls; in the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. And constantly memorized God's Word.

↑ TESTIFIES: He often testifies about what he has experienced. But, of course, he meets those who claim they don't believe in such things and assert that he might not have been that sick after all.
– But it's just those who don't know me and didn't see how unwell I was. After having such an incredible experience in my life, I see how good God is and understand even more that we have something good in store when we come to Heaven, concludes Ove Kolås.
It is part of the story that the professor of neurology later wrote to Ove and said that he had been saved. Perhaps it was because of the MS miracle?
