Else Berit (74) was completely blind in one eye for seven months.
– After the prayer, I regained my vision one hundred percent

Was blind in one eye: Else Berit Schøne now reads the newspaper without glasses – ten years after she was healed from blindness.
For 11 years, Else Berit has lived in Gol in Hallingdal.
– I originally come from Drammen. There, I started and ran the Kameratklubben, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. This was started as an offer for drug addicts. Later, such camaraderie clubs were formed in 30 different places in Norway, says the 74-year-old.
Without a doubt, we are talking on the phone with a caring person with a big heart for the weakest members of society. She would have liked to continue, but felt drained of energy after the corona pandemic. Moreover, it was challenging to conduct such extensive care work for so many years.
– Won't need glasses until I turn 95 years old
Else Berit sees so well and has 100 percent vision. She loves to read both newspapers and books. Especially, she likes to read Svein-Magne Pedersen's magazine Legedom, which she misses. She says it has been absent from the mailbox for a long time.
– So you don't use glasses?
– No, I won't need them until I turn 95 years old, she responds with laughter in her voice.
She thanks Jesus for being able to see so well. For Else Berit has experienced a mighty miracle. Her friend sits in the same room when we call. She gladly supplements and can confirm that what is being told is true. For she was there when her friend was prayed for.
Cancer in the thyroid gland
It started when she lived in Fredrikstad, where she ran a contact center for several years. She was at a checkup with her doctor just before she had packed her things to move to Gol because she had not felt well for a long time. She was up day and night because she was feeling poorly.

– The day after he called, and told me to come immediately. I said I had gotten a new general practitioner in Gol.
She was informed that she had thyroid cancer. It led directly to an emergency surgery at Drammen hospital in the summer of 2010.
Became blind
Cancer in the thyroid gland can often lead to blindness. Else Berit experienced this. Her left eye had become very large.
It protruded. So did the pupil. It resembled goiter. Her thyroid gland was removed on a Tuesday. The same week she had a major eye surgery.
– But I didn't get better. In the left eye I could see nothing.
It was one night that the Lord spoke to her about traveling to Svein-Magne Pedersen to request prayer.
– I said to my friend, "Tomorrow we travel to Vennesla for prayer, then we'll see what God will do." She thought I had gone mad, because she had mentioned it several times. I believed in healing through prayer. But I had said no, because I didn't want to stand in a long queue to be prayed for.
The great miracle
The two friends got in the car and drove the long way from Gol to Vennesla, a full 47 miles and a 5.5-hour drive. They went on a whim, as they hadn't scheduled an appointment.
– We arrived at the center, but no one opened. Just as we were getting into the car to go home, Svein-Magne drove up. He said he didn't have time, as he was going to be on the radio for a program shortly, but then he called us over. We went into the office with him. I sat on a chair in the middle of the floor. He placed both of his hands on my eyes and prayed. A strong warmth surged into my eyes, especially into the left one. As I opened my eyes, I could see clearly and saw beautiful flowers and patterns on the wallpaper in the room. Since then, I've seen completely clearly. I have perfect vision and read without glasses. The doctors had operated away the cancer from the thyroid gland, but there was something left. A new examination showed that all cancer had disappeared after prayer.
Else Berit says this happened ten years ago. It is an anniversary for prayer that resulted in good vision. She and her friend would like to celebrate with marzipan cake.
Blood Clot in the Right Eye
But then the 74-year-old started having problems with her right eye a couple of years ago. After that, she experienced blurry vision in the eye.
– I blamed it on the corona pandemic and on being tired. I had been running the Companion Club by myself for a long time.
It turned out that Else Berit had developed a blood clot in the eye. It is operable. But not in her case, since the clot had burst and spread out. The doctor said that only 40 percent vision was left in the eye.
Svein-Magne Pedersen recounts that he called her a few days ago, in March.
– At that time, she said nothing about the right eye. I just wanted to see how she was doing, and we agreed on a TV recording for the upcoming Sunday. While I was talking to her, her friend came through the door – for a visit. Else Berit said to me: «Svein-Magne, you must pray for her, she has a migraine». I prayed for the migraine and said goodbye to Else Berit. A few days later, Else Berit called me and said that when I prayed for Margrethe's migraine, her right eye was healed from the damage caused by the blood clot!! I knew nothing about the blood clot! She regained one hundred percent vision in her right eye!
Important to Testify about Jesus
Else Berit tells over the phone that she still goes to the doctor once a month to get injections in the retina against the blood clot.
– Have you told your doctor that you have been healed and regained your sight?
– I told him once. But he just laughed at me. Then I said to the doctor, «you must believe in Jesus. Then you can see for yourself that healing through prayer happens». What I experienced ten years ago is still just as great to me. When I meet people I haven't spoken to in a long time, I talk about what I've experienced. It is important to testify about Jesus in our time. It is especially important when we live in turbulent times with wars and unrest. And it is important to preach the gospel, for I am certain that Jesus is coming again soon, says Else Berit, and extends God's blessing from herself and her friend.
