↑ GOD’S POWER: Many illnesses left Katarzyna Saele Skretowicz when God’s power went through Svein-Magne Pedersen, during Norge IDAG’s summer convention at Bildøy.

For ten years, Katarzyna Saele Skretowicz lived with pain. Lyme disease, a complicated surgery to remove fibroids, exhaustion, severe weight loss, health problems, and multiple diagnoses made daily life increasingly difficult. As a single mother residing in Norway for 16 years, she had one simple wish: to wake up without pain and have the strength to live a normal life.

“I just wanted to be able to walk my daughter to school, go to work, meet people, and have energy like others. For most people, these are completely ordinary things, but for me, it became a dream,” she tells Norge IDAG.

Life had not been easy even before the illness. Katarzyna experienced violence in her first relationship. Later, her daughter’s father developed a substance addiction. For many years, she put others’ needs before her own. As a single mother, it was primarily her parents who supported her.

Her faith has always been a quiet but important part of her life, especially in demanding periods.

Two Hours’ Journey to Healing

For some time, she had regularly attended Christian fellowship gatherings. Through a friend, she heard about the prayer meetings of Svein-Magne Pedersen. Although the journey took up to two hours each way, she felt she had to go.

— On my way to the meeting, I had a feeling that I was going to be healed, she says.

During the prayer, something happened that she still finds difficult to explain.

— Pedersen laid his hands on me. He did not move me, but I could feel that something was happening in my body. Suddenly, I knew that I was healed. I felt strong emotions. It felt as if my whole body changed.

Shock

— I am still in shock. I feel a stronger joy of life. I want to get back to work, meet people, be part of a community, and follow my dreams again.

For many years, the illness had not only taken away Katarzyna’s health, but also the opportunity to participate in a normal everyday life. For many, work is a given, but for her, it has become a symbol of getting her life back. After years of exhaustion and isolation, she longs to be among people again, to have tasks, belonging, and energy to live fully.

Today, she looks differently at the journey she has been through.

– In the beginning, I asked: “Why me?” Eventually, I understood that I had to start taking care of myself. I was always there for others, for my family, my daughter, and the people around me. Now I know that my life is also important.

Katarzyna Saele Skretowicz’s greatest wish is something many take for granted: to wake up without pain, to have energy for her daughter, to return to work, to meet people, and to look to the future with hope and a smile.
