Else Berit (74) was completely blind in one eye for seven months.
– After the prayer, I regained my vision one hundred percent
– and have since read without glasses

↑ Was blind in one eye: Else Berit Schøne now reads the newspaper without glasses – ten years after she was healed from blindness.
For 11 years, Else Berit has lived in Gol in Hallingdal.
“I am originally from Drammen. There I started and ran the Kameratklubben (The Companion Club), which has its 50th anniversary this year. This was started as an offer for drug addicts. Later, such companion clubs were formed in 30 different places in Norway,” says the 74-year-old.
Without a doubt, it is a caring person with a big heart for society’s weakest that we are talking to on the phone. She would have liked to continue, but felt drained of energy after the corona pandemic. Moreover, it was demanding to run such a large care work for so many years.
“Don’t need glasses until I’m 95”
Else Berit sees so well and has 100 percent vision. She loves to read both newspapers and books. In particular, she likes to read Svein-Magne Pedersen’s magazine Legedom, which she misses. She says it has been missing from her mailbox for a long time.
“So you don’t use glasses?”
“No, I won’t need that until I’m 95,” she replies with laughter in her voice.
That she sees so well, she thanks Jesus for. Because Else Berit has experienced a powerful miracle. Her friend is sitting in the same room when we call. She is happy to supplement and can confirm that what is being told is correct. For she was there when her friend was prayed for.
Thyroid cancer
It started back when she lived in Fredrikstad, where she ran a contact center for several years. She was at a check-up with her doctor just before she had packed her things to move to Gol, because she had not felt well for a long time. She was up day and night because she felt so ill.

– The next day he called and told me to come immediately. I said that I had gotten a new GP in Gol.
She was told that she had thyroid cancer. It was straight into an emergency operation at Drammen Hospital in the summer of 2010.
Went blind
Thyroid cancer can often lead to blindness. Else Berit experienced this. Her left eye had become huge.
It protruded straight out. So did the pupil. It looked like goiter. On a Tuesday, her thyroid gland was removed. That same week, she had a major eye surgery.
– But I did not get any better. I saw nothing in my left eye.
It was one night that the Lord spoke to her, telling her that she had to travel to Svein-Magne Pedersen and ask for prayer.
– I said to my friend that “Tomorrow we are going to Vennesla, Norway to receive prayer, then we will see what God wants to do.” She thought I had lost my mind, because she had mentioned it several times before. I believed in healing through prayer. But I had said no because I did not want to stand in a long queue to be prayed for.
The great miracle
The two friends got into the car and drove the long way from Gol to Vennesla, Norway, a total of 470 kilometers and a 5.5-hour drive. They went on the off chance, as they had not booked an appointment.
– We arrived at the center, but no one opened. Just as we got into the car to head home, Svein-Magne came driving up. He said he did not have time because he was going on the radio to host a program shortly, but then he called out to us. We went inside to his office. I sat on a chair in the middle of the room. He laid both of his hands on my eyes and prayed. A strong heat streamed into my eyes, especially the left one. The moment I opened my eyes, I could see perfectly clearly and saw that there were beautiful flowers and patterns on the wallpaper in the room. Since then, I have seen perfectly clearly. I have one hundred percent vision and read without glasses. The doctors had surgically removed the cancer in the thyroid gland, but there was still some left. A new examination showed that all the cancer was gone after the prayer.
Else Berit says that this happened ten years ago. It is an anniversary of the prayer that resulted in good vision. She and her friend would like to celebrate that with a marzipan cake.
Blood Clot in the Right Eye
But then the 74-year-old had problems with her right eye a couple of years ago. After that, she got blurry vision in that eye.
“I blamed the corona pandemic, and that I was tired. After all, I had been running the Comrade Club alone for a long time.”
It turned out that Else Berit had suffered a blood clot in her eye. This can normally be operated on. But not in her case, since the blood clot had ruptured and leaked out. The doctor said there was only 40 percent vision left in that eye.
Svein-Magne Pedersen says that he called her a few days ago, in March.
“At that time, she said nothing about her right eye. I just wanted to hear how she was doing and made an agreement with her about a TV recording the coming Sunday. While I was talking to her, her friend came in the door—to visit. Else Berit said to me, ‘Svein-Magne, you must pray for her, she has a migraine.’ I prayed for the migraine and said goodbye to Else Berit. A few days later, Else Berit called me and said that when I prayed for Margrethe’s migraine, her right eye was healed from the damage after the blood clot!! I didn’t know anything about the blood clot! She got one hundred percent vision back in her right eye!”
Important to Witness About Jesus
Else Berit says over the phone that she still goes once a month to the doctor to get injections in her retina for the blood clot.
“Have you told your doctor that you have been healed and got your vision back?”
“I told him once. But then he just laughed at me. Then I said to the doctor, ‘You must believe in Jesus. Then you can see for yourself that healing through intercession happens.’ What I experienced ten years ago is still just as big to me. When I meet people I haven’t talked to in a long time, I tell them about what I have experienced. It is important to witness about Jesus in our time. It is especially important when we live in a troubled time with wars and unrest. And it is important to preach the gospel, because I am sure that Jesus is coming back soon,” says Else Berit, sending God’s blessings from herself and her friend.
