She has struggled with osteoarthritis and joint pain for most of her life. She has had hypothyroidism and an injury to one eye. Through prayer, she was instantly healed of all ailments. She is 78 years old, and so healthy and energetic that she can go on summits in rugged mountain terrain. She gives Jesus all the glory for this.

Jorunn Hansen is originally from Sørrollnes in Ibestad, which is an island municipality in Sør-Troms.

– Did you grow up in a Christian home?

– My mother was a Christian, but otherwise there were few Christians in my family, she replies, and she tells that she was saved at a meeting in her hometown at the age of 14. She belongs to the Church of Norway but usually attends meetings at the Pentecostal Church Sion in Harstad.

– I have had many ailments that I have dealt with for many years. Then I learned that I must go to Jesus with what I struggle with, she says.

Osteoarthritis after much toil

Jorunn has had a tough life with a lot of hard work. She states that she started as a domestic helper at the age of 15. She has cleaned, worked in shops, and in the serving industry. She has been a waitress at Sesam cafe in Harstad. She also worked at the canteen in the municipality.

– When my two children were small, I worked in a canteen during the day and was a cleaner at a doctor's office in the evenings.

This was to give her physical ailments at an early age. Her joints were worn out. The pain just got worse and worse. The knees were the worst, but she also had pain in her neck, back, fingers, hips, ankles, feet, and toes.

– It was my doctor who said that I had osteoarthritis. X-rays taken at Harstad hospital clearly showed wear and tear in the joints.

– What kind of treatment were you offered?

– Only pain relief tablets, she replies.

For around 20 years, Jorunn struggled with the ailments. She explains that it was difficult to walk on stairs and steep terrain. Especially downhill, since she had trouble bending the knee that was stiff and worst. She therefore had her own technique for getting down stairs. It took a long time. Due to the ailments, Jorunn retired early at the age of 62.

Instantly healed

On June 3, 2023, Svein-Magne Pedersen preached at a meeting at Kasfjord Baptist Church, just outside Harstad. Jorunn Hansen came there. After the meeting, she went to prayer.

She gladly tells about the miracle that happened.

– I didn't feel anything directly when he prayed for me. But then he took me by the arm to walk down the aisle. Then my joints had become flexible, and all the pain was gone. I could run up and down. For many years, that had been an impossibility.

Since then she has been healthy. Jorunn was able to resume many of the activities she loved. She tells that she now goes to the mountains and rugged terrain – without feeling any pain.

– I have been to Gangsåstoppen several times, a popular place with a shelter, table, and benches for hikers. I was instantly healed. I give Jesus all the glory for this, says Jorunn.

Jesus healed hypothyroidism

This is not the only time the 78-year-old has been miraculously healed through prayer. Jorunn also had problems with hypothyroidism for many years. She was on medication for 14–15 years but couldn't handle it anymore.

– But I had to stop the tablets because they gave me palpitations. I had very dry skin and needed to apply lotion, but all the cream absorbed, and I was just as dry.

She estimates that it was six to seven years ago when she was watching a program with Svein-Magne Pedersen on Visjon Norge. When he prayed for the sick, she accepted the invitation and placed one hand on the TV screen.

– I was instantly healed of hypothyroidism. Since then, I haven't had any ailments, she says.

– Jesus healed my eye

In conclusion, Jorunn testifies about another miracle. For 30 years, she had problems with one eye.

– It started with a grass straw in my eye, and it became a sore. The eye turned black. There was probably inflammation behind the eye. Seven to eight years ago, I placed my hand on the TV screen when Svein-Magne Pedersen had a healing meeting on TV Visjon Norge. Immediately, the infection was gone, says Jorunn, who regained as good eyesight on this eye as on the other.

– Have you told your regular doctor about these healings?

– Not that I was healed of osteoarthritis. But I mentioned the prayer for the thyroid. Then the doctor said that "yes, it is possible for the thyroid to return to normal,"

However, Jorunn Hansen has no doubt that all the healings she has experienced throughout her life are God’s miracles.

– Therefore, I thank God for my good health. All glory to Jesus, concludes the sprightly 78-year-old from Harstad.
