“I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.”
This fine promise is in Psalm 37:25. How can we learn to trust in God? There are two clear and important points. First: We can trust God because He is bound to His Word and promises of protection for His children. Second: By looking back on past experiences, we can testify that God helped us through. When we have called out to God for protection and help in difficult times, God has shown up, found a solution, and led us safely through trials. As the psalmist says here, God has never failed His children in tough times. When He sacrificed His Son for our sins on the cross, would He then allow us to be crushed by life's trials? But this does not mean that our faith cannot be tested, but we will come through the trial with an even stronger faith in God's care and protection.
