We must gain more of Jesus' mindset and learn to love non-Christians of all categories. Jesus is our role model. He was called “a friend of tax collectors and sinners” (Matthew 11:19). Once I visited an island somewhere in Norway, where I was to pray for the sick. On the list of those who needed prayer, there was a man who had done much wrong on the island. I was warned against him. He had stomach issues. Could I pray for this “great sinner”? God reminded me that Jesus healed all who came to Him without first asking for a moral “alibi.” I put the “Pharisee” in me on the shelf and prayed for the man. While I was praying for him, he felt a warmth entering his stomach. But it didn't stop there; it continued up behind his nose. He told what happened and said he suffered from sinusitis. What happened made a strong impression on me. The man was healed of both stomach ailments – and sinusitis! He hadn't mentioned that. But God took care of that, too. I felt a bit ashamed of my attitude towards “tax collectors and sinners.”
