As Christians, we should not stand alone in spiritual battles, especially when it comes to important decisions. Poor, ill-considered choices can have significant consequences for many. But sometimes it still happens, for we lack good advisors and someone with the gift of wisdom in our midst.

“Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.”

Proverbs 11:14

“Without counsel, plans go awry, but in the multitude of counselors they are established.”

Proverbs 15:22

Perhaps we need to humble ourselves and seek help from someone with good understanding and spiritual insight. My wife, Solveig, has the gift of wisdom. She has helped me countless times to choose rightly.

Sometimes one must wait on the Lord, for the time is not right for a decision.

“Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!”
