The greatness of salvation

What is salvation? Let the Bible explain the word itself: “To give knowledge of salvation to His people by the remission of their sins.” (Luke 1:77) Salvation means receiving forgiveness for all your sins. Forgiveness means in the original language “to send away.” When God forgives, He sends our sins one way and ourselves the opposite way. It means we will never meet.

“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”

Psalm 103:12

On what basis can this happen? Jesus' atoning death on the cross is sufficient payment.

“The blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

1 John 1:7

To be saved, God requires repentance.

Jesus says: “Unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Matt 18:3

The word for repentance in the original language means “to change one's mind upon further reflection.” It indicates a new realization: You realize you have been wrong, regret the life you have lived, and are willing to turn around. In military terms, it is said: “Right – about face!” That is, to turn 180 degrees, which we also call a “U-turn.” Here it is about a from and to:

“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Isaiah 55:7

This is about a change of direction, a change of authority, and a change of ownership.

If you have not repented, do it now, receive forgiveness and salvation, and come into a right relationship with God.
