God gives us special moments that sometimes last only seconds. We meet special people in a busy place. You have only seconds. God says to you: “Reach out to him or her!” The key is to seize the opportunity, for it might lead to great things in the future for that person—or for yourself.

If you act quickly, it can lead to great experiences. Have tracts in your pocket, learn your personal testimony beforehand. In English, there's an expression called: “The moment is gone” – the opportunity has passed us by.

The Bible says:

“Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season.”

2 Timothy 4:2

A few years ago, I was sitting in a café outside Skien with a friend of mine. Suddenly, I saw a familiar, elderly politician come in. I told my friend and made plans to reach out to him. We sat around a table waited for him to be ready to leave the café. I stood up at the same time as him and politely greeted the politician as he passed by us. I told him who I was. He politely greeted me back and continued to his car.

When I got home, I sent him a greeting, the magazine Legedom and a salvation tract. I don't know any more, but I did what God asked me. It felt good and right! About a year later, this well-known politician passed away. God gave him a chance to receive salvation.

The Bible advises us to such missionary practice:

“Blessed are you who sow beside all waters.”

Isaiah 32:20

“Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days. Give a serving to seven, and also to eight, for you do not know what disaster may come on the earth.”

Ecclesiastes 11:1–2
