Congratulations! If you sincerely prayed this prayer, you have become a child of God. According to Jesus' own words, He has come into your life the moment you opened the door of your heart and asked Him to come in. Jesus said: «…I will come in to him.» Jesus took you at your word and came in. You can be sure that you are saved because God's Word says so:

«But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.»

John 1:12

You no longer need to hope that you are saved. I don't hope that I am married. I know it, because I did what was necessary to get married. The pastor who married us didn't ask us after the ceremony if we felt married to each other. We were 'rightfully spouses' – regardless of what feelings we might have. You have now done what was needed to be saved – and now you are, no matter what you might feel. The 'marriage papers' are God's Word alone.
