The Bible – the holy book

The Bible is a holy book because it is inspired by the Spirit of God who spoke through its authors. It is not just a book about God, but also a book from God. The Jews gave us the Bible. The Bible is God's gift to humanity. It is the world's most important book, truth in its purest form. God's word builds up, gives strength, purifies, and has healing power. "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly." (Col 3:16 NKJV) I collect many different translations. This helps provide a broad understanding of the message. The more we plant God's word in our hearts, the stronger we become in spirit, soul, and body. And the more of God's power we become partakers of.

The Bible is a normative book where we can learn about what God's will is. It is the norm of norms, from which all other norms derive and against which all others are measured. All other norms are subject to God's eternal laws, the Ten Commandments.

The most important thing about the Bible is that the main message of the book is the message of salvation through Jesus' atoning death on the cross and bodily resurrection. I collect many translations. They provide a broad understanding of the message.

Read a lot in God's word, for then you will be filled with God's Spirit. The word can even bring healing:

"He sent His word and healed them."

Psalm 107:20 NKJV

Do as the Berean church:

"They received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so."

Acts 17:11 NKJV
