We must move away from pleasure-driven Christianity ("give me, bless me"). God wants us to be at the service of God and our neighbor. The prophet Isaiah said:

"Here am I! Send me."

Isaiah 6:8

Fresh water has both an inflow of new water and outflow to other waters. Deliver us from becoming a spiritual swamp where neither water comes to us nor flows from us. Jesus said:

"He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."

John 7:38

We need to live in daily renewal with the Word and prayer. We also need fellowship with other believers. About the first Christians it is written:

"Now all who believed were together."

Acts 2:44

The channels of faith need daily cleansing so they do not become clogged. Then God's water flows into us and out of us. People will then come to us and say, "It's so nice to be with you." They sense that we exude the freshness and power of the Spirit.

A woman said to me on the phone, "I am encouraged every time I have talked to you."

I was pleased with the compliment.
