There are no "born soul-winners." Jesus said: "Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men." (Mark 1:17) This is about a process where you learn by making some mistakes. But the most important "ingredient" is love for Jesus and for unsaved people. Without this love, evangelism will be mechanical and powerless. To become an effective soul-winner, we need to put five important aspects in place:

1. You must love God more than anything else and live openly for Him.

2. You must love non-Christian people, even if they are great sinners.

3. You must have a clear message.

4. You must expect God to use you.

5. You must possess the power of the Spirit to be a witness.

Evangelism is hard work. It doesn't happen by itself. By comparison: no war happens by itself. We are called to be soldiers of God (2 Timothy 2:3). The need for soul-winning is incredibly great.

Jesus said:

"The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."

Matthew 9:37–38

Of the world's eight billion people, three billion have not heard the gospel. It is not fair that some should hear the gospel a thousand times while others have not heard it even once! Make yourself available to Him at all times. Spread the gospel wherever you go. Distribute Christian tracts and testify of your Savior to "as many as possible" (1 Corinthians 9:19).
