God has a special ability to love us humans despite ourselves. Here, both "evil" and "good" people, "great" and "small" sinners, stand on equal footing. His love does not demand special qualifications. The greatest evidence is that He sent His only Son, Jesus, from heaven to earth and allowed Him to be crucified for our mistakes and sins. God is not angry with you, no matter who you are!

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 5:8

He died for sinners, who were His enemies. This speaks of unlimited love.

But even though God loves us humans, it by no means automatically means that our relationship with Him is in order.
