God created a perfect world, without illness and suffering. But sin, sickness, and death entered the world with the fall:
And God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.
Genesis 1:31
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."
Genesis 2:16–17
Eve was deceived by the devil to eat from the Tree of Knowledge. Then Adam ate from it, and the Fall became a fact (Genesis 3; Romans 5:12).
This is the real cause of diseases. The forces of death immediately began to work in humans, just as God had foretold. These have since followed us like a virus.
Jesus, ‘the last Adam’ (1 Corinthians 15:45), came to give His life for our sins and diseases. His death for us was a full payment for the Fall and all its consequences. Now, He offers us all salvation and healing as a gift that He has already paid for (Isaiah 53:4–5, 10).

Healed from Alzheimer’s
I have called you several times to ask for prayer for a lady who has Alzheimer’s. A few days ago, she said to me: “I have been healed from Alzheimer’s. My memory has come back.”
