The war zone is not primarily on the physical battlefield. The most important war zone is in our mind. For that's where all wars begin. It is there that the most important battles take place. Thoughts and ideas are formed within us, in our soul. The devil therefore wants us to think incorrectly, for then we are losers. Paul says: “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:4–5). Today we should go through our thought patterns and weed out anything that does not align with the gospel and the eternal truths of the Bible. Put away all doubt and unbelief, evil, and human decisions. Have you heard from God about this matter or are these thoughts coming from the chambers of secularism and rationalism? Paul urges us to draw ideas from another source: “The word of faith which we preach.” (Romans 10:8) We often need to do an attic cleaning of our acquired thought patterns and throw out old junk: “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2) “Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that spoil the vines.” (Song of Solomon 2:15) Think differently! Think as God thinks. Let the Holy Spirit guide your life.
