Gideon triumphed with just 300 men!

The devil is not afraid of what you are in yourself, but what you can become in God. The angel's words to the judge Gideon: "The Lord is with you, you mighty warrior. Go in this might of yours." (Judg 6:12, 14 NKJV) God saw beyond what Gideon was feeling. Gideon clearly had an inferiority complex. He excused himself by saying he belonged to the smallest clan in the tribe of Manasseh and that he was "the youngest in my father's house" (Judg 6:15 NKJV).

Gideon thought in human terms – what he could achieve by his own strength, but the angel saw the potential in him. He had a burning desire to see God's miracles, which he missed in Israel: "And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about?" The angel saw in him the longing for change among his people who had been slaves under the Midianites for many years.

The story ends with Gideon, a few days later, with 300 men, defeating the thousands of Midianite soldiers. Let us rely on what God can do through us, through the power and opportunities He gives us.

Forget yourself. Bet one hundred percent on Him and His power.
