The Step of Surrender

But even though Jesus has paid for the sins of the whole world, we are not automatically saved. If I worked at Norsk Tipping and wanted to present you with a check for one million kroner that you had won in the lottery, the money would not become your personal property that you could use until you accepted the check.

Before I married my wife Solveig, I believed in her intellectually. But she only became my wife when I gave her my heart and said "Yes" in front of the pastor in the church. To give your heart to Jesus, you must also give your "Yes" to Jesus. You must repent, which means to turn 180 degrees, leave your way and go God's way. You say "Yes" to Him in the same way you welcome a friend into your home when he knocks on the door. Jesus says:

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him."
