Surrender to God

If today you want to turn from your sins and give God the right over your life, you might pray this prayer:

"Lord Jesus, I desire to be saved and know You personally. Thank You for dying for my sins, rising from the dead, and living today. I cannot save myself. Therefore, I open my heart at this moment and receive You as my personal Savior and Lord. I wish to turn away from my sin. Take control of my life and forgive all my sins. You shall own me, and with Your help, I will live the rest of my life for You. Amen."

You Can Be Sure

Congratulations! If you sincerely prayed this prayer, you have become a child of God. According to the very words of Jesus, He has entered your life the moment you opened your heart's door and invited Him in. Jesus said: “...I will come in to him.” Jesus took you at your word and came in. You can be sure that you are saved because God's Word says so:

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”

John 1:12

You no longer need to hope that you are saved. I don't hope that I am married. I know it, for I did what was necessary to be married. The pastor who married us did not ask after the ceremony if we felt married to each other. We were “properly married” – regardless of what feelings we might have. Now, you have done what needed to be done to be saved – and so you are, no matter what you might feel. The “marriage papers” are God's Word alone.
